Report: Bills sign right guard Brian Winters

Bills starting right guard Jon Feliciano was lost for the season last week to a torn pectoral, sustained while lifting weights. The Bills didn't take long replacing him. According to multiple reports they've signed former Jets starting guard Brian Winters.

Winters has started 79 games over the course of seven years played for the Jets. He has had injury issues, being placed on injured reserves four times, including last season when he missed seven games. In nine games, Winters had a 64.6 grade from Pro Football Focus, had just one sack allowed, and two penalties.

The Bills lost starting right guard Jon Feliciano for a reported two to three months last week. One talked about replacement for Feliciano was second year tackle Cody Ford. Many believe Ford would be better suited at guard, but the Bills drafted him to be a tackle. Signing Winters would seem to confirm that they want for to focus on playing outside.

Spencer Long, Ryan Bates, and Daryl Williams will likely battle Winters to start at right guard on opening day.
