McDermott: "Would've liked to see [Charles Clay] come back to Josh a little bit"

December 03, 2018 - 5:19 pm

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott was as busy as usual on Monday.  After meeting with the media at 4:00 at One Bills Drive, he joined Schopp & the Bulldog at 5:00 to recap the weekend that was down at Hard Rock Stadium against the Miami Dolphins.

We bring you the notable comments from McDermott's time on WGR Sports Radio 550.

McDermott on defending mobile QBs like Josh Allen:

"It's a headache.  The mobility of these young quarterbacks creates a real problem."

McDermott on yesterday's final offensive play:

"What you probably didn't see was Zay Jones coming open over the middle.  Josh [Allen] had to escape the pocket... Our protection broke down too early... Josh had to go off schedule... Just one of those opportunities we weren't able to take advantage of."

McDermott on Charles Clay on that final play:

"Charles got open.  Credit to him for that, but would've liked to see him come back to Josh a little bit."

McDermott on unsuccessful challenge attempts:

"There's times you don't have a good look at it, or it's close.  One out of 10 is not where I want to be.  I thought yesterday with potential points on the board, we wanted to take a good look at that one."
