From the locker room: Sabres-Penguins

The Sabres were shut out, failing to score for the third straight game, in their 5-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Buffalo surrendered three power play goals to the Penguins in the loss.

Let's head inside the locker room to hear from Phil Housley, Jason Pominville, Conor Sheary, and Kyle Okposo following the loss:

Phil Housley:

On the team's pride: "You look at the game, right, zero zero after one, chances are even. I mean, they get a power play, they're a very oportunitstic team, they don't need many opportunities to capitalize. We get a power play, we're outshooting them nine to two, and we have our opportunities to tie the game up, or get it within one on both of those power plays and that's just where we're at as a team right now, where we're squeezing it."

On the lack of consistency lately: "Well, we continue to talk about it and we're going to continue to talk about it. That's where for us to score goals right now, it's not going to be pretty, it's gonna have to get to the net, maybe bang off of a shin pad like their power play goal, it's pretty simple but we have to be willing to go there and just pay a price because we haven't scored a goal in three games."

Jason Pominville:

On not scoring for three games: " I just think [we need> more pride, get to the net. I mean, you look at after two, I mean, it was three nothing, we give up two power play goals, and I mean, a point shot with an unbelievable screen by them so, I mean that's winning hockey, that's what we have to get back to. We gotta have more pride to get to that area, get our nose dirty, it's a tough league to score in, you gotta pay a price to get to the net. We gotta get pucks there, right now we're definitely not doing it enough."

On the team makeup: "It's definitely not the attitude we want to have, we want to stick together and keep pushing and find a way to get out of it. But we, again, to me, it comes down to compete, pride, and battle and right now it's not there in the dirty areas. For us to be successful we've gotta roll lines over and be short, and not overextend shifts and at times we're doing that and we looked a little fatigued."

Conor Sheary:

On his scoring chances in the game: "We gotta do a lot of things. I think it starts with getting to the net front, maybe getting a dirty one, I think [we are> a little too perimeter in trying to make plays on the outside, especially off the rush. I think we just gotta try and get inside more and bang home a rebound or something dirty in front."

On how to become a harder team to play against: "I think it's a hard thing to do. I think, you go take a cross check, you gotta battle with a defenseman in front of the net, it's hard to get in there and battle like that, so, I think we just have to have a little bit more buy in to doing that, and like I said, we'll get a couple goals here."

Kyle Okposo:

On the team not scoring in three straight games: "I think it's probably different every game. The Colorado game was bad all around, Dallas we just couldn't buy one, and tonight we just, I mean we had, I don't know, six really good chances that we didn't cash in on, and I don't remember a second opportunity, so, I mean, you're not gonna score a lot of goals like that."

On playing with pride: "Anytime that you put on an NHL sweater, you put on the Sabres' sweater you better play with some pride, otherwise you should't be here. I don't believe that, that we've lost that, and if guys have, then they shouldn't be here, I don't know what else to say."
