Pete Jensen, a senior Fantasy editor for NHL.com, joined Schopp & the Bulldog to kick off our first post-Rasmus Dahlin draft era.  Jensen and the guys talked everything Buffalo Sabres hockey, free agency rumors, and offered an outlook for the season ahead in Western New York.

Jensen on potential powerplay alterations:

"It is a slam dunk choice to put [Dahlin] on the first powerplay unit.  I would love to see them put together Dahlin and [Rasmus] Ristolainen.  Ristolainen was right up there with Drew Doughty, Erik Karlsson and Ryan Suter on the powerplay already."

Jensen on Jack Eichel's effect on the man advantage:

"Eichel drastically improves that powerplay when healthy.  I think this team is capable of extraordinary powerplay production."

Jensen on the depth and help Dahlin offers to Ristolainen:

"Ristolainen has been hung out there to dry, whether you like him or not.  He hasn't had much help at all."

Jensen on Dahlin's offensive upside:

"The production is there, no doubt.  I even think Ristolainen benefits more from this lucky break.  It should have nothing but a positive impact on Ristolainen."

Jensen on Ryan O'Reilly:

"I really like his game.  He is a great complimentary player to Eichel.  This offense could really explode this year.  I would hang onto O'Reilly for one more year.  He has that key skill-set, especially in the face-off circle."

Jensen on Buffalo's goaltending situation:

"[St. Louis'] Carter Hutton had an outstanding season.  He is not very young, though.  Nonetheless, if he hits the market he may be the best option out there."

Some important upcoming dates to remember: Buffalo's development camp kicks off Wednesday, June 27th.  Dahlin, among other top Sabres prospects, will be in attendance.  Later this week, NHL Free Agency officially commences on Sunday, July 1st.
