Bulls keep rolling; top Western Michigan 84-74

January 20, 2018 - 8:47 am

The UB Bulls won their 7th game in a row, and improved to 6-0 in MAC play with an 84-74 win at Western Michigan on Friday night. The Bulls were up by just 2 points at the half, but thanks to a 17-3 run in the 2nd half, win was never in doubt. CJ Massinburg and Jeremy Harris led the way with 20 points each. Nick Perkins added 18 points of his own to go along with a game high 9 rebounds.

Western Michigan was a tough task for UB. The Broncos were picked by many to win the MAC West in the preseason, but the loss drops them to .500 in conference play this year so far. The Broncos did have a 4 point lead early in the 2nd half. Both teams exchanged the lead a couple times, before the Bulls scored 7 straight and never surrendered the lead again.

UB topped Western Michigan in rebounds, points in the paint, fast break points, and bench points. A great balanced effort by the Bulls, who's 6-0 conference start is the best in school history.

The Bulls return home on Tuesday night to try to improve to 7-0 in conference play in a meeting with Eastern Michigan at 7pm. For tickets call the UB ticket office at 1-877-UB-THERE or go to ubbulls.com. If you can't make it to the game you can listen on ESPN 1520!
