Anderson, Edmunds miss another practice, remain in concussion protocol

Things aren’t trending in the right direction for several key Buffalo Bills to be available for their game against the Chicago Bears Sunday in Orchard Park.

Quarterback Derek Anderson, middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, and defensive end Trent Murphy all missed practice for a second straight day, which makes it increasingly unlikely any of them will be able to suit up, although head coach Sean McDermott didn’t completely rule it out, at least in Anderson’s case.

“It’s going to be tough at this point,” McDermott said.  “But we’ll see what he looks like tomorrow.”

Anderson and Edmunds both remain in the concussion protocol, while Murphy deals with an ankle injury suffered eleven days ago in the team's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

If Anderson is unable to go, Nathan Peterman will get the start under center with newly signed Matt Barkley backing him up.

Julian Stanford would most likely start at middle linebacker in place of Edmunds.
